Yesterday we practiced being readers. In Reader's Workshop, we learned how to hold a book and how to turn the pages so carefully. We learned that we can read books by looking at the pictures. This concept of lingering over the pages and using the pictures to help tell the story is something we will continue to practice for quite some time in kindergarten. Gradually this will morph into reading our "Just Right Books" which are books where the level of text is just right for us!
We also learned about the Geoboards yesterday. The kids enjoyed exploring with these before dismissal!
