Roll and Record

Roll and record is a game we play often throughout the school year. We play this game in various content areas with a different focus each time. Today by chance, we played it in both word study and math. In word study we played it using our "snap" words so we could practice reading and writing them and in math we played with the focus on number writing. As the year progresses we will play in word study with new words and in math we'll continue to practice for number writing, adding two dot dice together to find the sum, adding a number dice and a dot dice together, and also adding two number dice together. Today for both versions, the words or numbers were there for the kids to trace but eventually the kids will be filling in these things on their own.
