Random Thought!

Last night as I was putting Lydia to bed and we were playing one of our nightly games together, I thought, maybe others would like to try some of this with their bedtime routine! Our nighttime routine is nothing special really, but as I lay next to Lydia in her bed we often play some type of word game together. She seems to love it and the teacher in me loves that!

Lately, we have been playing different variations of rhyming games.
* Sometimes we have a mystery rhyming word where we'll say a nonsense word and you have to guess the real word that rhymes with it.
Example: "My word rhymes with fook."   (Book)
Sometimes with this game we may say "It rhymes with fook and we have tons on the shelf"

* Another game we do is pick a word and try to come up with as many rhyming words as we can think of. Sometimes we decide that non-sense words count and other times we decide they don't!

* Lastly, we'll sometimes play a rhyming game where one of us has a word in their brain that rhymes with another word and the other person will guess what it is.
Example: "I am thinking of a word that rhymes with cup. (pup) other person guesses all the words they can think of until they guess the correct mystery word.

Winter celebration!
