Winter Cheer
This week our whole school is working on spreading winter cheer. Each morning we are given a challenge (or two) to try to complete. Yesterday our challenge was to try to take a selfie and post it to the wall in the hallway and today our challenges were create a poster to post in the hallway to make people smile and/or give a compliment. Our class has been hard at work. Each time we complete a challenge, we can add a paper link to our class chain. On Friday, all of the class chains will be connected and displayed at our whole school assembly. It will be wonderful to see all of the cheer the whole school has spread this week.

Gingerbread Fun!
Today we baked Gingerbread and when we went to pick it up at the oven, it was no longer there. All we found was the pan with some gingerbread crumbs....well actually, if I am being perfectly honest, a foot. I guess thats what happens when you don't time things perfectly and you need to get it in the next spot before you are found! It's all for the magic!!!
We checked the office, asked nurse Crimmin...because you know....the foot, and looked in the library before finding it back in the classroom!
The kids loved it and the whole experience is so much fun! Perfect for this snowy day!

Superpowers!
Today we made a chart of all the Superpowers we have for when we are reading books. These Superpowers can help us when we get to a tricky or challenging word. If your child is reading at home with you and they encounter a tricky word, you can encourage them to try one of these strategies to help them figure it out!
Happy Reading!

Gingerbread Memory
Today in math we played memory with gingerbread houses and gingerbread men. The gingerbread houses had a ten-frame. The gingerbread men had a number written on them. The kids had to match the number to the ten frame.
Gingerbread Storyboard
This week we also made the storyboard for the Gingerbread Man. We have been practicing our retelling of this story. On Friday, the storyboards will come home so you'll be able to enjoy the retelling too!
